Krill’s Quest

The tiniest fish in the ocean is on a journey to save Princess Horseshoe Crab. Along the way our little heroine, Krill, learns that what has always been seen as her greatest weakness is actually her biggest strength.

Biographies

Angelle Whavers

Angelle Whavers (Playwright) is a graduate of Drew University with a bachelor’s degree in theater and history. She has co-written for the show 4320p: Immersion with the Tectonic Theater Project, had her 10-minute play Does Not Translate performed by the Vulcan Theatre Company, as well as her full-length, Incubator, in the New York Theater Festival. In addition, Angelle won the 2020 New Play-Reading Festival at The Growing Stage in Netcong, NJ, and had a production of her winning play, Boogie, in February of 2022. Angelle is also a recipient of The Chauncey Lester and Elsie Steward Benedict Memorial Prize for playwriting. She has worked as a writer and performer with Parody in Blue for: Year of Woman 3, Grab Them By The Parody!, 19th Amendment: 100 Years of Suf rage, and How to Succeed in Politics Without Even Leaving Your Couch! Angelle is the co-founder and Director of Social Media for Unidentified Stages. Her acting credits include: Performer, Actor’s Hour; Sapphire, 4320p: Immersion: Nell, Haiku; and Florence, Poof!

Joel Willison

Joel Willison (Director) is a newcomer to Ghostlight's Make/Believe! He attended Knox College where he was the co-coordinator for New Plays Workshop and directed Dutchman, Minnesota Moon, Marigold; a Sibling sketch and an Honors project for Death of a Salesman. Joel is the Artistic Director of Pocket Theatre VR (PTVR) — a theatre for the metaverse focused on bringing theatre online in a new format. Joel's upcoming projects include Laments of a Brown Bird Summer for Director's Haven 6 and producing PTVR's third season!

Joselle Reyes

Joselle Reyes [she/her/hers] (Krill) is from the island of Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands and recently graduated from Columbia College Chicago where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Performance. She was last seen as Ariel in The Little Mermaid (Music Theater Works), Edges: A Song Cycle (Columbia College Chicago) and in Baked! The Musical (Chicago Music Theatre Festival at Underscore Theatre). She's excited to perform in the Make/Believe Festival for the first time and hopes you enjoy the show! Mahal kita, Mama.

Sophie Hernando Kofman

Sophie Hernando Kofman [she/her/hers] (Narrator) is a storyteller, world-crafter and creative thinker who loves nothing more than to help create stories that move us and pull us from our daily routines. Previous credits include roles in SpongeBob the Musical (Surging Films & Theatrics), Grimm (world premiere at Theatre Above the Law), As We Like It; a devised Shakespeare Project (Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford, Connecticut), One State 24 Hour Theatre Festival (Silent Theatre in conjunction with Arts Alliance Illinois), Storefront Theater Musical (Corn Productions) and El Grande de Coca Cola (Waterfront Summer Stages). Additionally, she worked as a haunted corn-field actress at Stocker Farms in Snohomish, Washington, and is a current Associate Artist with LOCAL Theater Company in Boulder, Colorado. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts in theater from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, and is so excited to be making her debut with Ghostlight Ensemble Theatre Co. She also tells phenomenal jokes.
