Fight Night: Valkyries


Ghostlight Ensemble is excited to join Nothing Special Productions' Fight Night — a violent cabaret celebrating the art of stage combat through original storytelling and violence design. This Fight Night celebrates the feminine warrior spirit, and to do so Ghostlight will present Trip, Trap, Trump, a modern fairy tale about Internet Trolls and one woman's battle against them. Literally.

Join the Murray family as they spend a slightly less than relaxing holiday at a remote cabin in the Wisconsin woods, bickering over who sleeps on the couch, who has to fetch the firewood and who has to deal with the Christmas demon that just showed up in the middle of a blizzard. Krampus! is sure to be a new holiday classic because nothing says Christmas like abject fear.

In the age of reality television when fiction is often realer than reality, Luigi Pirandello’s classic metatheatrical play takes on new relevance. Using this framework, Ghostlight's production examines the institutional racism found in modern theater and leaves the audience wondering if they were just watching a show or were they, perhaps, the show.
