Angry Fags
November 6-23, 2025
An out lesbian state senator is up for re-election. Her female opponent is a moderate conservative who’s aligned herself with right-wing extremists. They’re locked in a tight race in which each side dog-whistles to its base and any event is instantaneously politicized.
When a gay man is bashed with a baseball bat and left to die, his ex-boyfriend, a campaign aide for the incumbent senator, is enraged. But it’s the unwillingness of his boss to label it a hate-crime that tips him over the edge.
Angry Fags, by Topher Payne, questions how far is too far to protect your community?
Holiday Spirits
December 9, 11 & 12, 2025
During the long nights of midwinter, join Ghostlight Ensemble and the Driehaus Museum by the fireplace(s) as we return again this year to the Victorian tradition of telling ghost stories at Yuletide.
Adapted by Ensemble member Maria Burnham, Holiday Spirits: A Collection of Victorian Yuletide Ghost Stories is a multi-story and multi-storied immersive, site-specific adaptations of classic Victorian ghost stories.
Three distinct stories will unfold throughout the museum. Some seating will be provided, but be prepared to move with the actors as they uncover these otherworldly visitors.
The 8th Dwarf
February, 2026
Binky, an outsider dwarf, inspired by the kindness and motherly affection of Snow White, longs to find the courage to join the most special of their kind – the dwarves that get to work in the mines.
Through adventure after to adventure, Binky learns that courage, kindness and wit matter more than anything and that actions speak louder than material goods.
The 8th Dward is written by Olivia Sieck and is part of our Nightlight young audiences series, which produces original, adapted and forgotten plays geared toward children and the adults who love them.
Lady Lazurus
Spring, 2026
Callie is stuck.
She can't finish her goddamn book, can't pay rent and can't seem to get over her ex. And oops! She may have just killed him.
So, Callie and her best friend Gia (who maybe is in love with her) go on the run with Callie's literary agent and a lady cop chasing behind. Can Callie outrun them and her past?
Written by Haley Basil, Lady Lazurus is a story of heartbreak, revenge and maybe a tiny bit of witchcraft.
Ghostlight will present a staged reading of this new work that is in development.
The Dover Road
Spring, 2026
Welcome to the home of the eccentric Latimer, who waylays couples who are running away together. The reason? To give them a taste of what their lives together might be like by forcing them into sustained exposure to each other's habits and idiosyncrasies.
Might your own habits get an examination while you’re there?
The 1921 comedy by A.A. Milne is a not-so-subtle dissection of romantic love, but buried beneath is a less obvious commentary on the homosexuality, bisexuality and gender nonconformity that has always existed in society if you knew where to look.
