Little Red Reboot

A modern mash-up of the Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks tales, in which two rebellious females we think we already know break the rules of storytelling and theatre to get to a happy ending.

Little Red Reboot was written by Sonya Sobieski and directed by Kristin Schoenback.

 Kristin L. Schoenback

Kristin L. Schoenback (Director) is a freelance director and theatre educator in Chicago dedicated to work that can inspire empathy and shift cultural and social paradigms. She has recently directed such works as Machinal, Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time, Mr. Burns; A Post Electric Play and Ellen McLaughlin’s Oedipus, which featured all original music. She has worked intimately with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, where she conceived the programming for educational outreach, including their short Shakespeare touring company, Bard in a Box, which tours to community centers, schools and prisons. She holds her Master of Fine Arts in directing from Illinois State University, Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University and is an associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Union. ww.kristinlschoenback.com

Spencer Brady (Little Red) is so excited to make her Chicago debut with Ghostlight Ensemble’s Make/Believe festival. Spencer received a Bachelor of Science in acting from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Favorite roles from ISU include: Guildenstern (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead), The King of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland) and Tilly Evans (She Kills Monsters). Spencer would like to thank her family for their never-ending support and love!

Tori DeLaney

Tori DeLaney (Mom, Surgeon, Ensemble) is delighted to be joining the cast of Make/Believe. Tori was recently seen in Otherworld Theatre's Paragon festival, and last summer at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival where she performed in Pride and Prejudice, As You Like it, Caesar, and Who Stole Cleopatra? Tori is a recent graduate in acting and communication sciences and disorders at Illinois State University. Previous credits include, Eurydice (Eurydice) and Balm in Gilead (Fick) (Irene Ryan nominations,) Proof (Catherine,) and Doubt (Sister James.) Sarah Ford

Sarah Ford (Narrator, Musician, Ensemble) is very excited to be a part of Ghostlight Ensemble’s Make/Believe festival in Little Red Reboot. Recently Sarah was a part of Moving Bench Theatre’s A Christmas Carol and The Ballad of Lydia Pinkham’s Magical, Miracle, Sure-Cure for All Female Weaknesses. She has loved growing as an artist in Chicago for a little over a year now, and is so grateful for the opportunities and support she’s been given. Daija Nealy

Daija Nealy (Goldi, Grandma, Ensemble) is so excited to be making her debut with Ghostlight Ensemble Theatre. Daija graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in acting from Illinois State University in 2019. Since then she has had the privilege of performing in shows at First Floor Theatre, Cornservatory, as well as Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret. She looks forward to all the opportunities Chicago has to offer and is very thankful for all the support.

Nate Perez

Nate Perez (Wolfie, Musician) is an actor born and raised in Chicago. He recently appeared as Harold Washington in Unifying the People: The Rudy Lozano Story (Valiant Theatre’s New Works Festival). Other credits include: Ross in Macbeth and a pirate in The Pirates of Penzance (Saltbox Theatre Collective). In his undergrad at Concordia University Chicago, he starred as Leontes in The Winter’s Tale, Bellomy in The Fantasticks, Capt. Horster in An Enemy of the People and many others during his educational endeavor.

Troy Schaeflein

Troy Schaeflein (Ms. Lumpit, Ensemble) is thrilled to be a part of Make/Believe. Troy was recently seen onstage at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival in Pride and Prejudice, As You Like It, Caesar, Shakespeare Bootcamp and Who Stole Cleopatra? Troy spent the past four years training in acting at Illinois State University. Previous credits include, The Liar (Dorante), Balm in Gilead (Dopey) Oedipus (Creon), The Heresy of Love (Santa Cruz) Special thanks to Kristin Schoenback, for the opportunity and for just being an amazing human being, and to his fellow cast mates for the willingness to play.

Rita Taylor Wicks

Rita Taylor Wicks (Narrator, Ensemble) is extremely excited to be a part of Ghostlight Ensemble at Laugh Out Loud Theater this year! She lives on the Southside of Chicago and is currently an undergraduate at Columbia College Chicago. Prior to CCC she attended Illinois State University where she performed her favorite role so far, Loud Stone from Eurydice. Rita is very grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank everyone who continues to support her.
