Thank you so much for your donation to Ghostlight’s Season 9 fundraising campaign, Love As A Verb and for supporting theatre that matters in Chicago.

As a not-for-profit theatre, we rely on our community to support the work we do. Your assistance helps us provide free or pay-what-you-can tickets for the majority of our production — a model that allows all members of our community to attend our productions, regardless of their income level.

As you know, the arts are under fire from those who would silence voices that challenge the status quo. Ghostlight’s mission has always been to uplift those voices and we remain resolute in that mission.

Chicago is known around the world for its bold, inclusive and innovative theatre. It is thanks to brave donors like you this work can continue.

Theatre, like all great art, is more than just entertainment. It holds up a mirror to society so we can examine the problems and triumphs that are taking place around us. It helps us understand life, interrogate the nature of reality and grapple with questions of meaning, purpose, suffering and mortality.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Contact your representatives. Let them know that federal support for the arts is essential. You can easily reach your senators and representatives via https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials.

  • Support local theatres directly. Donate, subscribe or buy tickets. Even a small contribution makes a difference.

  • Raise your voice. Use social media, community forums and conversations with friends and neighbors to share why the arts matter to you.

  • Join us in advocacy. The League of Chicago Theatres is working with its sibling organizations across the country to take action. Keep an eye on its website and join its email newsletters for details on how to participate. As a non-profit service organization, the League support over 200 theatre organizations across the region, including Ghostlight Ensemble. Help us continue this work through spreading the word or making a donation to the League HERE.
