Ghostlight Ensemble is seeking the following production positions for its fall production of American Son by Christopher Demos-Brown: Costumer, Sound Designer, Stage Manager and a Scenic & Props Designer. Details for each are below.
American Son follows an estranged biracial couple who must confront their feelings about race and bias after their son is detained by the local police following a traffic stop incident. Their disparate histories and backgrounds inform their assumptions as they try to find out what happened to their son.
Production Schedule:
Rehearsals will take place in August and September on weeknights.
Tech week: Sunday, September 13 in the afternoon and Monday, September 14 through Thursday, September 17 in the evenings.
Performances: Show will run Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings and Sunday afternoon matinees from Thursday, September 17 through Sunday, October 4.
Strike: Sunday, October 4.
COSTUME DESIGNER:
Costume Designer will dress four actors and four understudies in modern dress.

Stage Manager will attend all rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals in August and September. Three to four rehearsals a week on weeknights or weekend days, to be scheduled according to cast availability.

SCENIC & PROPS DESIGNER:
Seeking one designer to handle props and scenic needs. This production takes place in an intimate, non-traditional "found" space, not in a theatre, and as such we are not seeking someone to build a traditional set, but to dress the space to evoke the setting of the play.
